Seven reasons for buying wooden frame houses

1. Wood as construction material
Wood is one of the most used construction materials from the oldest times in the execution of various works as: bridges, fortresses, houses, agro-zoo technical constructions, because of their specific characteristics:
High quality coefficient: given by the report between its weight and resistance. From this point of view wood is comparable with steel and superior to concrete and masonry. This advantage is significant for the roofs, where the wood weight represents the main part of the charge.
Thermo and phonic insulator: wood is the best natural thermo and phonic insulator material contributing to the reduction of energy expenditure and offering an excellent thermo comfort whatever the season.
Optimal interior humidity: it has a high diffusion capacity which ensures a permanent change of gases and air and a high level of hygroscopicity which sustains the equilibrium between the humidity of wood and of the room.

2. Construction duration
The posibility of prefabricating the construction elements as well as the good wood resistance compared to its low weight determines the use of prefabricated elements easy to transport and assemble obtaining a reduced construction duration. And more, there are eliminated from the construction duration the expectation times coresponding to the drying of the woods in the masonry houses case.

3. Thermo and phonic insulation
Standard solutions of constructing wooden houses are offering a very good thermo and phonic comfort. At the present moment the medium energetical consumption is situeted between 250 and 400 kWh/m2/year at houses built before 1995. The new energetic reglementations give financial and plasement facilities only to new built houses which guarantee a maximum energetic consumption of 100..120 kWh/m2/year – requests at which the traditionl masonry system have difficulties adapting to. The wooden frame house solution fits easely in the limits of an energetic consumption of 70..80 kWh/m2.

4. Very good seismic resistance
Wood elasticity and resistance gives wooden frame houses a high seismic resistance determined by its capacity of absorbing seismic waves and of supporting suplimentary weights without reaching the breacking point.

5. Optimal interior humidity
The difference between the walls temperature and the temperature in the house is much lower then in masonry houses. That is why wooden houses are much easier to heat and the phenomenon of steam formation is practic inexistent due to wood capacity of moisture absorbtion which maintains relativ air humidity in optimal parameters creating excelent climate in every room.

6. Ecological – wood is an ecological material, natural and reciclable, does not generate nocive gas, statical electricity, radiations or dust, protecting the environment and also family health.

7. Lower price than a masonry house reported to the same comfort characteristics. Insulations from the walls we are building are the equevalent of an 60 cm masonry wall. In order to have the same seismic resistance, a masonry house should have huge concrete beams. All these elements would make a masonry house price offering the same conditions of thermo insulation and seismic resistance 50% higher.
